Shac De Burg

As a strong singer and musician, Daniel “Shac De Burg” Burgess has roots well planted in the music scene of Trinidad and Tobago. Born in Morvant and grown in Chaguanas, Trinidad’s special flavour of sounds were ingrained in his journey from early on. Put to the piano by his father at 10, it wasn’t until the age of 14 where music became a priority for Shac. Playing in the Church he learned the importance of timing, teamwork and sound.

In 2005 Shac was able to expand from the Church into Soca and toured with the soca icon Ajala across Canada. This is where he leaned into music production and went into a mentorship with Martin “Mice” Raymond. Through Mice he was able to work with artists such as Machel Montano, Blaxx, Denise “Saucy Wow” Belfon, Peter C Lewis, Iwer George, Devon Matthews and more.

Developing his own sound became a priority, and Shac uses band-work to increase his exposure and influences. Stepping away from the studio for several years, Shac was able to travel the world as a keyboardist, DJ and lead vocalist on several cruise ships. This opened the world to Shac and you can hear it in his music.

Bringing a unique and collaborative sound, Shac fuses his personal culture with a rare blend of world cultures to form a collision of melodic harmonies. One part singer, one part producer, and one-whole artist, Shac stands as the undisputed backbone of Roadway Records.
