“So What” is loosely based on a true story that White Wine was involved with. In 2019, during a fundraising event, an open accusation of appropriation became a longer dialogue about living your truth and understanding the difference between appreciation and appropriation. A sudden defensive justification opened up the long history White Wine has had with a culture that is not his. After struggling with guilt and concerns of overstepping White Wine decided to put his thoughts into music. A single conversation became a larger topic over the last few years that has created opportunities for growth.

For better or worse no one has a right to judge another, and White Wine suggests silence if you have nothing good to say. Everyone’s story is theirs alone to tell. This song begs to open conversations before defamation and unite cultures as one.

Aptly spoken, a mantra we should all abide ends the song with: Be happy with you, live life for you.
